Perkins wrote and illustrated the multicultural tale of The Dutch Twins. That and the sequels that followed devoted to sets of twins from around the world sold more than 2 million copies and were translated into several languages. Perkins, who was one of Pratt’s first art instructors, produced a title every year for a quarter century.
