Promax Compact Hairdryer
The sleek Promax hairdryer, made by The Gillette Company, was created by the simple fusing of two tubes, and was designed to look European. The hairdryer is in the collection of The Museum of Modern Art’s Architecture and Design Objects.
The Gillette Pro Max hairdryer is a prime example of form follows function.
In the collections of MoMA; The Brooklyn Museum; Museum Boymans-van Beunigen, Rotterdam; Staatliches Museum für angewante, Kunst, Munich.
This design was the first of many mass marketed products designed by Cousins Design to enter Museum collections worldwide.
Morison Cousins designed more than a dozen products that are in the collections of museums worldwide.
Each product was designed to provide average consumers museum quality products at mass market prices.
As a former employee of Cousins design I was privileged to work with Morison a gifted thoughtful, creative designer.
I had this hairdryer. I loved it! I was very sad when it finally died of old age.
